Xiaomi YU7 Surpasses Tesla Model Y in China Sales

In October, Xiaomi's YU7 beat Tesla's Model Y in Chinese domestic sales, signaling strong momentum in the competitive EV market.
Xiaomi recorded 48,654 vehicle sales across China last month, with 33,662 being YU7 units—now outselling the company's SU7 sedan. Tesla delivered roughly 61,500 Model Ys during the same period, but with 35,400 exported, only about 26,100 stayed in China.
Since July deliveries began, Xiaomi has shipped approximately 70,000 YU7s total—remarkable growth for a new entrant in the SUV segment.
Specifications:
The base YU7 features a rear motor producing 315 hp and 389 lb-ft torque, paired with a 96.3 kWh battery. Higher-performance dual-motor variants offer 489 hp and 681 hp respectively.
Currently, Xiaomi EVs remain exclusive to the Chinese market, with no confirmed timeline for international expansion.
