Xiaomi Vehicle Order Resale Market Sees Sharp Reversal

Xiaomi Vehicle Order Resale Market Sees Sharp Reversal
The secondary market for Xiaomi vehicle orders has undergone a significant transformation in recent months. Previously commanding substantial premiums, these orders are now being traded at notable discounts.
Recent industry analysis indicates that resale values for Xiaomi SU7 reservations have declined to approximately 1,500 yuan (around 210 USD), while YU7 reservations are trading between 2,000-3,000 yuan (280-420 USD). Early purchasers who initially paid 5,000 yuan deposits are now facing losses of roughly 3,000 yuan.
This market shift follows Xiaomi's strong launch performance earlier this year, when the YU7 model attracted 200,000 advance orders within the first three minutes and reached 240,000 orders in under 18 hours. At that time, order transfers were selling at premiums ranging from 3,000 to 20,000 yuan on secondary platforms.
Industry sources report a dramatic change in buyer sentiment. Where premium payments of 10,000 yuan were common two months ago, current discounted offerings are struggling to find buyers even at reduced prices.
Industry observers point to multiple contributing factors behind this market correction.
